Hello and welcome to
Walk Slow Run Wild
We are Tim and Anna, a couple of adventurous travel bloggers and photographers from Australia.
We’ve switched our daily lives for one filled with travel and new experiences. This blog is a place for us to document our stories and share our love of travel with the world.
What we are doing
We’ve got no plan, no timeframe, and no end goal in mind. Just travel. For as long, and as far as we can. Making it up as we go along and living one destination at a time.
It all began with a one-way ticket to London, the bags on our backs and nothing planned except a road trip through the Scottish Highlands. As meticulous researchers and planners, this was quite the lifestyle change for us!
We have already seen a good chunk of the globe, but our journey is only just getting started. We hope by sharing our story that we can help inspire others in their adventures and show the transformative effect it can have.
What this blog is about
We created Walk Slow Run Wild to share honest, practical advice for the independent traveller based on our own experiences, failures and successes.
For us, travel is about finding those authentic experiences in new and exciting destinations. It’s about connecting with new people and cultures and learning about our place in the global community. We hope to build awareness about forging your own adventure in a considerate and responsible way.
On this travel blog you will find stories and images to excite your own wanderlust, as well as our own detailed travel research, destination guides and travel blogging tips to help you along the way.
Our Travel Philosophy
We are big fans of the slow travel movement and try to practice it whenever we can. Staying longer at each destination means we can immerse ourselves in the culture and appreciate daily life. By taking the time to wander without a goal or destination in mind, we’ve often ended up with more meaningful memories linking us to a place.
Some of our favourite stories come from getting lost down cobbled alleyways, stumbling across the best little gelateria or bakery we’ve ever seen, accidentally finding some obscure museum or amazing street art or simple sitting off to the side and watching the world go by.
There’s also a time to let loose and take a risk by diving headfirst into an adventure. We are constantly challenging ourselves to try new experiences - things we wouldn’t normally do by pushing out of our comfort zone. Embracing the unexpected can lead to some of the most amazing escapades.
Travel can be wild and unanticipated. Plans fail and disappointments happen, but something else will always pop up in its place, maybe something new and incredible that you’ve never experienced before.
We hope you enjoy following our adventures and find some inspiration for your own Walk Slow Run Wild style travels!
